The remarkable world attention of Chavez has helped a lot making Venezuela known to the outside world, explains Henrik Bratfeldt "creative director of Explore Partners"... The Bolivarian government of Venezuela is promoting a new kind of tourism based on social, and sustainable activity, as well as respecting the environment and the interest of the local population, said President Hugo Chávez at the opening ceremony of the International Tourism Fair of Venezuela 2008 (Fitven)."We are socializing tourism. We are especially interested in boosting popular tourism," said President Chávez. He also explained that national tourism in Venezuela has increased in the last years. "We want to put a new focus on tourism. We want a tourism that respects the environment. We are also interested in a kind of tourism where economic profit is not the most important aspect of this activity. We are working hard to boost tourism in Venezuela," explained President Chávez. President Chávez said that the cruise ship industry is not convenient because "they dock for one or two days, then they just leave their garbage and leave. That is not the kind of tourism we want. If the cruise ships do not wish to return to Venezuela, that is their choice." The main goal of the Venezuelan government is to boost domestic tourism so that all Venezuelans can travel all over the country and enjoy all the options the country has to offer. President Chávez congratulated both public and private tour operators for the new approach to tourism in Venezuela. He also gave all the support to the Ministry of People's Power for Tourism and all related entities for their role in the development of social tourism in Venezuela. The ministry of Tourism needs to prepare Universities students in Venezuela for better and more educated personal helping the International travelers when preparing for visit to Venezuela, there is simply not enough or well educated tour operators in this moment to commercialize the international travel market, explains Henrik Bratfeldt "creative director and manager of Explore Partners Venezuela" |
